Lessons

Lessons take place in a purpose-built music studio. They are usually weekly and generally follow the state school terms.

Timings are dependent on stage:

30 Minutes - Beginners

45 Minutes - Intermediate

60-90 Minutes - Advanced

Please contact me for rates. I usually bill by the 1/2 term.

Individual lessons

All lessons are individually tailored to meet the needs of each student, regardless of level. ​

I have a thorough and meticulous approach to my teaching, ensuring each stage is well understood before moving on. I believe learning should be fun; mistakes are taken lightly and used as a tool for learning.

I have a very positive creative outlook, patiently, carefully nurturing children during this pre-college period to enable them to go on and fulfil their potential.  

 

My focus has now turned to developing young viola players; an area I feel is much neglected. I am passionate about the viola and love sharing this with the younger children, watching them grow into proud confident players.   

Hybrid Lessons

I am happy to teach on a hybrid in-person/Zoom basis for committed and serious young violists. I have found this works well for students who live further away and are unable to travel for a lesson every week.

I will consider teaching ‘Zoom only’ lessons for international viola students dedicated to their studies.
